Instagram is rolling out a new test feature to the public which hides the number of likes which you can view on posts.
This was confirmed by Head of Instagram, Adam Mosser, on Twitter:
We’re testing this on Instagram to start and we’re exploring a similar experience for Facebook too.
More to share about this soon.

Mosseri is yet to confirm the ins and outs of the results of the previous test rollout.
Alessandro Paluzzi, an app researcher, shared this image showing how the feature may look if officially released to the public.
If this feature comes to light, users will have the option to hide likes in the post composer when publishing content and will also be able to keep the full likes count in the app if they desire too.
Mosseri also goes on to mention in his Twitter thread that they are planning to explore a similar system with Facebook and that he will be releasing more information on this in the future.
